She only spent P2,000 for the mini makeover!
After almost a year of being cooped up at home, many of us have learned to make the most out of our spaces. Prior to the makeover, Eunice simply used her terrace as a sampayan. “We would hang our clothes here and even store some [unused items],” she told Real Living in an email interview. “I always dreamed of having a work area [at home] where I [can] unwind and think creatively. And so, I thought of renovating our terrace."
BEFORE
To liven up her balcony, Eunice painted her grills and walls in white. “I also placed artificial grass on the floor to cover the old tiles.” She bought the faux grass from the Facebook Marketplace, which cost a total of P1,500. When asked how she keeps the carpet clean, Eunice said, “I simply use a vacuum cleaner! Then on rainy days, I would just roll [the faux grass].”
AFTER
Instead of buying new chairs, Eunice covered her old storage boxes with pillows. "I only spent P1,500 for the faux grass and P500 for the paint, and then we just reused our old stuff," she shared.
The homeowner also added a couple of potted plants to get a feel of the outdoors! “Mga tanim lang ‘yan ng helper namin who loves to plant.”

After the mini makeover, Eunice shared that her family has been spending a lot of time in the terrace. “[My kids] love it! They usually spend their afternoon here playing chess with their cousins. This also serves as their study area tuwing hapon.”
As for Eunice, this relaxing nook is where she would usually drink her “morning coffee and plan the day ahead.”
