Jumpstart Your Day: This Industrial Apartment Can Be Your Home Peg

Clever details and chic touches make this space stand out

We’ve seen almost a hundred different industrial spaces and to say that we’re impressed would be an understatement. These homes inspired us to go beyond the usual concrete walls and bricks as each possesses a one-of-a-kind element that you can’t find anywhere else.

This 40sqm apartment in Russia features everything we love about the industrial style—brick walls, exposed details, and well-thought-out furniture and accessories. You might be wondering what makes it special and unique. For starters, have you ever seen a bathroom hidden inside a box? The wooden cube that you are seeing houses the T&B and somehow serves as a storage station, too. Designed by INT2 Architecture, the compact studio is meant for rental.

Instead of adding a console table by the entrance or a slim cabinet, the designers opted for metal industrial cabinets. Steel is a recurring element all over the space as steel tables were chosen for the kitchen while a mix of wood and metal touches are seen in the tables and chairs.

The kitchen is reminiscent of one's favorite cafe or restaurant with its warm lights, rods for storage, and a stainless steel working area.

Meanwhile, the dining space shouldn't be left unnoticed! The chandelier is an unexpected, luxurious touch. To add a vintage flair to the space, distressed chairs and other pieces were scored from online auctions and flea markets.

RL Tip: If you want a similar distressed feel for your furniture, you can also drop by secondhand stores and garage sales for must-haves.

To keep the space from being too raw, soft furnishings add warmth to the unit. A posh rug anchors the living area while two matching tufted armchairs serve as comfy seating pieces. This setup is perfect if the owner loves having friends over for movie nights and casual get-togethers.

Now you might be wondering what's in the box and how the bathroom looks like. To keep it streamlined, white tiles are used for the walls while patterned pieces are chosen for the floors. The interesting pattern adds a vintage touch to the space as it works well with the repurposed must-haves that complete the look.

We especially love the old sewing machine turned into a bathroom sink and the wooden ladder that can be used to keep towels and even magazines organized.

RL Tip: If you are aiming for a vintage-inspired bathroom, choose fixtures in brass or copper finish for an antique look. You can also look for an ornate mirror when you drop by flea markets.
