Turn Your Bedroom Into A Happy Place in 5 Easy Steps
Bedrooms are more than just sleeping spaces after all
People say if you're only going to make one area of your home cozy and comfortable, it has to be the bedroom—after all, it's where we sleep, relax and spend most of our free time. However, for most rentals and high-rise units, the boudoir is just a stark space. No idea how to turn a bland box into a personal paradise? No need to worry, we've got tips from YouTuber Sarah Hawkinson who did it without spending a dime. Check them out below:
1. Have a place for everything.
If everything has a place or a designated spot, it will be easier to do a quick tidy-up after a long day. Even if you don't have the time to deep clean your space every single day, it will feel a lot more put together if you keep things where they should be.
2. Have designated messy areas.
For those who are still on the journey to being more organized, you can ease yourself into tidying your room daily by having specific areas for clutter where you can stash things for cleaning up at least once a week.
3. Only own what you love.
When you love each piece in your room and you don't have random stuff you don't know what to do with, you'd feel more at home and happier in your personal space. Consider trying the KonMari Method if you find downsizing very challenging.
4. Live by the rule of five.
This decluttering hack is pretty basic: If you have something in excess, try owning only five of that item. You don't have to follow this rule to a T, but it can be a good guideline to keep you from stocking up or hoarding different things.
5. Cater to all your senses.
Try to have different textures and colors that appeal to you in your room. You can choose a combination that is easy on the eyes, light scented candles or spritz room sprays to set the mood or add thick throws to keep it inviting. The only goal is to end up with a space that makes you feel warm and fuzzy when you come home.
