Injecting organic touches into one's home entails a healthy balance between abandon and restraint. You want a certain element of wildness that doesn't feel too curated, but you wouldn't want to end up with a confusing design either. Interior designer Gino Eraña gives us three tips on how to inject organic touches:

1. Use fresh foliage.

"The colors and forms of fresh greens counteract rigid and cold spaces," he explains. "I suggest stem cuttings of plants with dramatic organic shapes (such as those of the Philodendron or Alocasia species) placed in a simple vase."

"Lush greens, earthy browns, and florals are a staple, but you can also inject more interesting organic colors such as those of unrefined minerals," he says. Avoid colors that look synthetic.

3. Use handcrafted natural fibers. 

"Layer natural textures and fibers over modern interior elements to give just the right amount of that organic feel—perhaps a handwoven seagrass rug paired with a modern contemporary sofa and coffee table."
