5 Rustic-Inspired Dining Rooms You’d Love to Recreate

Let this special spot serve as your home’s focal point

What’s the best thing about coming home after a long day? Many would surely say it’s enjoying dinner with the whole family. This special moment allows us to share stories and keep everyone updated with what’s happening at work or in school.

Since we all love gathering around the dining table to savor Mom’s delicious recipes or Dad’s tried-and-tested specialties, it needs to be a comfy place that has its own vibe and style. You may want to consider a few rustic-inspired touches that can add warmth to the space. Gather the family and see which of these pegs can be your new group project:

Having an outdoor dining nook allows you to experiment with different decor and design ideas. Give your wooden table a fresh coat of varnish and see if your chairs need a little bit of updating, too. You don't necessarily have to buy a new set! Breathe new life into these pieces by painting them in various shades that can work well with your dining table. A mismatched look can add charm to your dining area.

RL Tip: When working on your outdoor dining space, you may also want to consider adding string lights to add a whimsical feel.

Add a touch of elegance to your dining area by pairing a wooden table with tufted chairs. Pair it with an equally stunning pendant lamp to complete the look.

Giving your dining area a new look need not be limited to tables, chairs, and lamps. You can also work on your walls to create a seamless look. Achieve a country-rustic feel by working with wooden wall-mounted shelves where you can display white dinnerware. If you have an extra console table, you can use it to create a vignette featuring potted plants and small decor pieces.

We've been seeing a lot of benches in dining areas lately. If you have a big family and you love inviting relatives over, you can go the same route as it can help you save on space, too. Update your pieces by keeping the wooden surfaces as is then painting the legs white. Doing this helps avoid a cramped look and gives your space a bright and airy feel.

Once you're done working on your key pieces, you can update your dining area once in a while by changing the centerpiece weekly or per occasion. Go bold by working with a large potted plant or you can have a group of small plants placed in a tray.

Aside from lovely greens, you can also experiment with flowers and colorful blooms that can serve as pops of color within a space that's dominated by wood. You can also update your ceramics by choosing pieces in earth tones.
