We all know what happens when we go to Pinterest, the world’s biggest inspiration site and app. It becomes a Black Hole, and we end up pinning one image after the other, and before we know it, it’s already 2am.

So it doesn’t come as a surprise that Pinterest, which is basically an online pinboard for visual ideas and is used widely by homeowners and designers to get style pegs, has come up with its own prediction of design and lifestyle trends in its blog; the site has 175 million active users as of January 1, 2018, with over 1 billion Pinterest boards all in all. Now that’s a lot of inspiration right there!

According to the blog entry, the “Home” category of their Pins continues to increase by 75% every year, and that Pinners spend 27% more on their home buys than those who don’t use Pinterest. Ready to get some inspo? Here are the ideas to try, based on the trending searches:

1. Resort inspired style.

These include rattan furniture, spa-like bathrooms, and living spaces that remind you of your last luxury vacation spot (incidentally, tropical and Filipino-inspired homes are Real Living readers’ second most favorite home style).

2. Mixed metallics.

Gone are the days of matching silver-to-silver, and gold-to-gold. Now, you can mix it up—rose gold with yellow, pewter, and everything in between. And people love it—the saves for “mixed metals” are 423%. Get these accessories at H&M Home at SM Makati and Robinsons Magnolia.

3. Dramatic ceilings.

Saves for “statement ceilings” on Pinterest were up 310%. These days, homeowners aren’t putting their accents only on their walls; wildly patterned wallpaper, bold paint, and ornate architectural details snake up to the ceilings. You can find patterned wallpaper at Studio Eleven.

4. Gray-tinged wood.

Wood for the wall and floor in shades of gray, herringbone patterns, or other unusual patterns were some of the most-searched surface finishes. You can get this type of wood pattern locally from Listone Giordano at Match Contract.

5. Patterned plants.

Gardens and plants are big with Real Living readers, with gardening articles ranking among our top 50 stories of 2017, overall. The same goes for Pinterest Pinners, only this time they are looking for patterned or variegated plants. You can find these types of plants at Bijin Craft.

6. Statement doors.

It seems homeowners are now looking for a warm welcome, with Pinners avidly searching for “statement doors”—boldly painted, or highly ornate doors.

7. Terrazo.

This retro flooring we used to see in our Tita’s homes from the 1960s and 70s has made a cool comeback. Designers are now looking for ways to work with the vintage material, which could now be used on ceilings, countertops, and even décor (saves for “terrazzo”: 316%).

8. Bone Inlay.

An exotic and ancient art, Pinners looking for furniture and accessories with bone inlay finishes signal a return to intricate, maximalist design. You can find bone inlay pieces at Jo Liza, Tiendesitas, and My Ottoman Home.

9. Wall art.

Searches for wall art are some of the biggest on Pinterest (637%), and homeowners want their walls decorated with framed photographs, bold artwork, and large prints. No blank walls here!

10. The color sage.

Move over, Millennial pink (and Ultra Violet, too!) the world prefers subtler, more workable colors, such as Sage Green. The muted, grayish-medium-green shade can be used like a neutral, and goes well with natural, pastel, or even bold color palettes. This paint color can be found at Boysen
