Q: I have twins, and we’re living in a small space with two yayas and the daughter of one of the yayas. We have a problem with the layout of our space, with dark furniture, and no storage spaces. We have no funds for a renovation because we spent a lot in the hospital due to a high-risk pregnancy. Can you help us? — Cherryl P. Yam via Facebook

A: A long and narrow space leaves little room for getting from one area to another, and boxy furniture doesn't help. Because you can't afford to do any renovations right now, do some furniture rearranging instead!

I’ve seen your pictures, and the bassinet tied across the room creates an unsafe obstacle. If it's possible, move the crib and bassinet into a bedroom. If you have an extra cabinet or shelf, place it under the stairs for extra storage. You may also move your coffee table there and just add baskets on top of and below it. This will open up your living room and give your twins space to crawl around in.
