5 Stylish Ideas For Small Bedrooms

Your sleeping area doesn’t need to suffer even if you live in a small space

Who doesn’t want to sleep in a comfortable bedroom? It is a nice reward after a long day of working. But if you live in a tiny space, it can be difficult to create a stylish sleeping area, especially if all you can allot is one small corner. Don’t fret—here are ideas on how you can do it:

1. Go large.

Don’t be afraid to bring large pieces into your small bedroom (or in your small condo unit). Just pick a few key pieces and work around them. This sleeping area in a doctor’s one-bedroom condo unit definitely has large pieces in it, but the symmetrical arrangement of the mirrors and side tables and a brown-red-gold color scheme tie the look together and keep the room from looking cramped and cluttered.

2. Use low shelves as divider.

There isn’t enough space to create a separate bedroom in this 41sqm studio unit, but thanks to the waist-high shelving, the sleeping area is distinguished from the rest of the spaces. The low shelf houses the owner’s books and magazines, while the bed packs some style, thanks to the boldy patterned suzani (a Turkish throw) that covers it.

3. Anchor the bed with pattern.

This bedroom may not be the size of a presidential suite, but it surely doesn’t pale in comparison. A toile de jouy wallpaper serves as the space’s focal point, defining the sleeping area in this room that also doubles as the owner’s home office. Two wall sconces add more flair.

4. Create a platform bed.

If your space can’t accommodate a bed frame, a low platform will work just as well. Cover your mattress with bright-colored linen to liven up your sleeping area.

5. Paint your walls a lively color.

If you can’t bring in a lot of decor or knickknacks because of the limited space, let the walls create a style statement. With a lovely and bright color such as this apple green bedroom, who needs more accessories?
