Consult a professional first
Do you know how much gallons of paint you need for your room? Is your chosen paint ideal for wood? A foreman or painter would know! Don't forget to ask professionals for advise. You can also drop by hardware stores and ask attendants for inputs.
Start with the corners
Start by cutting along the corners or edges. Usually, those areas are not reached properly by a roller so it’s advisable to start there.
Mix and match colors
If you feel that you want a combination of two colors for your walls, visit the paint mixing station of the hardware store. The store attendants can properly mix the colors. Just don't forget to mentionbwhich area you will be using it for. You can also bring sample hues, pegs, or swatches to achieve the best paint mix.
Close the lid
Avoid exposing the paint to dirt and dust! Don't forget to close the lid of the paint can once you're done because if it gets contaminated it won’t be as effective on your walls. Make sure that you clean your brush and stirrer after using it.
RL Tip: Don’t use contaminated water when mixing paint and painting walls.
