4 Space-Saving Solutions for Your Kitchen
Designer Lisa Salvador gives a few tips on how make the most of your kitchen space
When you only have a small kitchen, every inch of space counts. The ultimate goal for homeowners is to have an efficient and functional space that's perfect for storing supplies and preparing meals.
If you have a compact kitchen, here are four solutions that you can do.
Keep proportion in mind
“Choose the right furniture size for your kitchen to keep walkways free of clutter,” says designer Lisa Salvador. If your dining area flows into the kitchen, you may choose to have a medium-sized dining set instead of having a bulky set. You may event opt for stackable chairs that you can put away after meals.
Use décor as storage
To create an interesting kitchen, décor is a must! It’s advisable to pick stylish pieces that are multifunctional. Opt for a stool that has hooks on the side to store kitchen mitts or even glass containers and mason jars as utensil holders.
Take into consideration the depth of your space. You may choose to reconsider the layout of your appliances and chairs. See what works best for your space by moving pieces around and checking different positions for the chairs and table.

Segregate work areas
“A good work surface, storage, and easy access are three important factors in a kitchen,” Lisa shares. Make sure there's enough space so you can move around freely. Avoid filling your countertop with condiments and supplies so you can work efficiently.
