You’ll Want This New, Playful LEGO-IKEA Collaboration in Your Home
It'll inspire kids to enjoy organizing their things, too!
If you follow both LEGO and IKEA, then you’re probably aware of a collaboration they announced back in 2018, wherein they would “join forces to encourage more play.” Fans were left hanging with a press release that said, “In the next couple of years, the first outcome of the collaboration will reach customers in IKEA stores.”
Flash-forward to 2020, and we now have the result of their team-up!
LEGO has recently posted this teaser on their Facebook page:
In an August 27 press release, on the other hand, IKEA revealed that it’s the BYGGLEK, “a creative solution that intertwines play and storage.”
“Consisting of a series of storage boxes with LEGO studs and a special LEGO brick set, the new BYGGLEK collection aims to encourage play and infuse more fun into storage around the home,” it says. The goal was to find middle ground among adults and children when it comes to fun interactions; this storage solution would encourage creativity from all family members.
The entire set has three small boxes, two sets of bigger boxes, and a collection of LEGO bricks. These can be intuitively mixed and matched, making organization more fun for kids—and their parents.
The BYGGLEK will be available throughout Europe and North America starting October 1. Global release will be sometime in 2020.
