Reader Question: How Can I Organize a Closet for Four Sisters?
Find out how to make the most of your limited storage with our practical ideas
Q: My three sisters and I try to fit our various wardrobes—uniforms, other clothes, shoes, jackets, and bags—in one standard two-by-four wooden closet. There are two drawers, four shelves, and one pole. Oftentimes, the closet overflows and we can hardly find our stuff when we need it. Any advice on how to organize this chaos?—Maria
A: Since you have limited storage space, you and your sisters should trim your wardrobe down to the everyday essentials. Everything else, like prom dresses, bridesmaid gowns or heavy jackets, should be kept in a separate place.
Free up more space by keeping shoes and bags on racks outside your closet. Shelf dividers, labeled containers, and multi-item hangers could definitely help.
