With the success of Marie Kondo's books—The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and Spark Joy, it's almost impossible not to hear or learn about the KonMari method. The author has developed a decluttering technique that works for every part of the home—even the kitchen.

Whether you're just starting or you're quite far along the journey, we've found a video tutorial that takes you through the entire process of spring cleaning your cooking corner. YouTuber Charlotte Faraci not only shows us how she does it, she shares tips on how to let go of unused items, too.

If you need extra motivation for tidying up your space, you can also heed these RL Tips

1. Organize vertically.

Stand in the middle of your home, look up, and discover just how much space for storage you have. Organizing vertically doesn't only let you store more important things, it can save you a ton of counterspace, too.

2. Create storage for what you need.

If you need an extra push to only keep the things you actually use, don't make any room for things you enjoy putting on display. Even if that means having to get a smaller cabinet or drawers, so be it!

 3. Get rid of visual clutter.

Anything that you don't use for cooking, baking or prepping snacks sprawled across your counter need to be discarded as soon as possible. If you insist on showcasing decor pieces in your kitchen, one or two should be enough.

 4. Don’t be afraid to throw things out.

Decluttering comes with an extra dose of guilt, especially if you're getting rid of something that is expensive or one-of-a-kind. To soften the blow, consider giving it to someone who would love to have it—at least you know it's going to a good home.
