This 30-Day Technique Can Help You Finally Get Rid of All Your Clutter at Home
For a neater space this 2021!
Now that the new year, many of us are feeling refreshed and motivated to commit to brand new resolutions. One popular New Year’s resolution, especially among parents, might be finally cutting down on your stuff and throwing out all the items lying around in your house that you don’t use at all.
Of course, decluttering can be very difficult and overwhelming. However, one way you can start on making good on this resolution is by practicing 30 days of tidying.
According to TED Ideas, this technique can depend on your personal goal. For example, if you want to declutter your home, you can try purging one drawer, shelf, rack, or similar space each day for a month. If you want to be neater and more organized, make it a point to return every item you use to its proper storage area for the next 30 days.
Matt Cutts, a software engineer, told TED Ideas that he used this technique in exploring new interests in photography and fiction writing. Cutts found that pledging to do a certain activity each day helped him accomplish more and built his confidence.
The best thing about this decluttering technique? It only takes a small chunk of your daily life, so no matter how busy you get, as long as you include it in your routine, you’ll be able to finish it until it eventually becomes a habit. Before you know it, the month has passed and you find your house more organized than before.
Hopefully, by the end of 2021, you’ll reap the benefits of consistently following the 30-day decluttering technique: a cleaner home and less stress!
