Wash them weekly and separately

Washing your bed covers along with household items of different textures can ruin breakdown of the material your beddings are made of. Separating them from your other items will need you to spend more time in the laundry, but at least you get to maintain the quality of your sheets! Also, don’t forget to do your wash your sheets at least once a week—again, this can be a pain, but the payoff will be so worth it.

Use cold water

When washing your beddings, remember to use cold water. Hot water can break down the fibers in your sheets, and this can impact their durability and lifetime negatively.

Nix the bleach

Bleach is known to be a great tool for doing laundry, as it helps remove stains and helps whiten clothes. But when it comes to washing your beddings, using bleach may not be such a good idea, because it can cause yellowing as well. Instead, if there are any spills or stains on your sheets, simply spot clean them before chucking into the laundry. An alternative aid to help retain that pristine white color is baking soda.

Take off your makeup

No matter how tired you may be when you get home at night, make sure to wash off your makeup before going to bed. No one wants to see mascara stains and bright-colored stains on white bedding. Plus, you get to rid your skin of all the dirt it may have collected throughout the day.

WHITE WOOD FURNITURE

Keep your pieces out of the sun

If you have any wooden furniture that are colored white, the ideal place to keep them, if you want to keep them looking good as new, is in areas that do not receive a lot of sun. Otherwise, these pieces will turn yellow over time.

Follow a monthly cleaning routine

Another way to maintain your white wooden furniture is by cleaning them monthly. No need to buy any fancy cleaning products; just mix a cup of white wine vinegar and 2 cups of warm water, then dip a soft towel into the solution and use it to clean those pieces. As much as possible, wipe the towel along the wood grain.

Brush away stains gently

Should you get any stains on your white wooden pieces, use a soft-bristled brush to get rid of them. Again, don’t forget to scrub along the wood grain.
