Anyone who cooks at home will know the struggles of getting your kitchen surfaces ruined by pesky grease stains. Another unfortunate thing about grease stains is that they can be really difficult to eliminate. But with the aid of some household items you probably already know about, you can finally say goodbye to those unsightly grease spots in your kitchen. Here are three easy hacks you can do.

Baking soda

One powerful cleaning agent is baking soda. Simply sprinkle a bit of it on a damp sponge, then wipe the grease off of your kitchen surfaces. To get rid of any baking soda residue that may still be there, wipe the surface again with a damp cloth.

If you decide to use baking soda, keep in mind that it is a corrosive substance, which means that it can damage a surface finish if it is scrubbed too hard. Be gentle with your scrubbing!

Vinegar

Vinegar is another household item that is widely recognized and used as a cleaning tool. To eliminate those grease stains in your kitchen surfaces using vinegar, put undiluted vinegar into a spray bottle, then spray it generously over the stain. Let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes, then afterwards, use a clean dishcloth to wipe the surface clean.

An alternative you may do, especially if you dislike the smell of vinegar, is to dilute the vinegar with water, and even add a few drops of essential oils to it. Just remember not to use vinegar as a cleaner if the stained surface is made of unsealed stone or any porous material, like untreated wood.

Vegetable oil

One final way to eliminate grease stains is by using vegetable oil. Pour a little bit of it on a paper towel, then use that to wipe the stained surface clean. Finally, use either of the two techniques mentioned above as a finishing touch.
