Sinks and vanity countertops often end up as the most cluttered spots in the bathroom. Achieve a clutter-free and well-maximized space with these easy must-dos:

1. Use side tables or shelves

An old side table with drawers or shelves can serve as storage for bulky items like bath supplies and towels. This is an excellent storage solution if you have a freestanding sink without a countertop.

2. Use small decorative containers

Another space-saving way to store hand or face towels is to roll or fold them and place them in baskets standing up. You may also hang them on towel rods to dry. Don’t forget to place a little hamper for used ones nearby.

4. Use boxes and baskets for storage

Sturdy storage boxes are versatile in bathrooms—they can be piled one on top of another to make vertical storage, hide toiletries and magazines, and be stashed neatly under a sink.

5. Use clear glass jars

Cotton swabs and cotton balls look better out of their original packaging and placed in clear containers for easy identification. These are great for vanity tables, too.

6. Choose the perfect hamper

A double-purpose hamper with a tray or a simple hamper with a flat lid can be another extra surface to pile on your towels and bathroom supplies if you lack countertop space.

7. Choose pieces that go with your bathroom’s theme

You’ll always find clean-up kits below your sink, but they don’t have to be ugly. Place all your supplies in a bucket and keep everything else in a nice basket. This way your kit is inconspicuous, yet accessible at the same time.

8. Utilize holders

No space even for your toothbrushes? Hang them in holders attached to the wall with a suction cap. Your toothbrushes will also be protected from dirt and being stepped on.

9. Discard all unused or expired products

Regularly check your bathroom products and pick out those which may be unused or expired. This is not only a great way to declutter, but can also be helpful in getting rid of items that may only irritate or harm you.

11. Install mirrored medicine cabinets

Aside from shelves, mirrored medicine cabinets also provide additional storage, while simultaneously making your bathroom look bigger than it actually is.

12. Invest in lighting and ventilation

If your bathroom has a window, it is good to leave it open during the day to let the space breathe. If there are no windows, use light fixtures that will allow you to move about freely and do your routines efficiently.
