Whether you are planning to downsize or just going to have a one-of-a-kind vacation, living in compact spaces while practicing minimalism is a good idea. Life partners Kol Peterson and Deb Delman started a hotel business to showcase the possibilities of small housing to the public, especially for travelers around the world.

Caravan, The Tiny House Hotel is located in Portland, Oregon, and is made up of six tiny, custom-made houses on flatbed trailers. Each of these mobile homes on wheels measures 100 to 170 square feet of space, complete with flush toilets, hot showers, electric heat, a sitting area, a kitchen and lots of locally made art. Each house also features creative, funky, artistic design elements coupled with multifunctional, space-efficient furnishings. Outside is a fire pit with chairs where guests can relax and interact with each other.
