Shop of the Week: Songdream
This home-turned-showroom highlights unique, modern Nordic-style pieces for your furniture needs
This North European brand has moved from big cities in Asia to Manila. The company was first established in 2006 and has introduced the slow life concept by designing pieces that are simple, durable, and eco-friendly. Songdream’s showroom is located on a busy street in Greenhills along a stretch of residential homes—so don't be surprised to see furniture pieces arranged in a home setting.
The set-up is as if you are just visiting your aunt’s well-preserved mid-century bungalow—social areas occupy most parts of the place, while a few flights of stairs lead you to the bedroom.
Songdream owner Paul Yap, an architect, stumbled upon this mid-century Filipino-style house, the kind we see in old Pinoy movies—a modest-sized bungalow with an iconic adobe stone wall, and decided to turn it into one unique showroom.
The brand is known for producing quality products that are simple and natural, yet always with the modern spirit, classic, and will never be out-of-date. This corner in the showroom best illustrates the beauty of Nordic living theme with furniture in no-fuss elegance that still functions to its designed purpose.
Proving the quality of the products, furniture pieces are machine-cut, standardizing the structure and design of each item. Songdream furniture pieces are also widely accepted in the overseas market as it exports to Europe, Japan, Middle East, Singapore, Australia, and North America.
Aside from big pieces, Songdream also has a wide array of decorative fixtures such as table lamps and pendant lights that come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and stylish designs, all with the signature concept of beauty and functionality.
