Located at Robins Design Center in Pasig, De Adorno showcases mid-century pieces that boast impeccable craftsmanship. Seamless dowelling, smooth-as-silk finishes and sensual lines will welcome you as you enter the gallery—you can say that each piece is an example of fine artistry.

While the shop just opened in 2016, the brand is no newbie in the furniture design industry.  It’s the brainchild of architect JC Soliman of JCS Design Group, a furniture manufacturer and interior design company that hails from Pampanga and a supplier of furniture pieces to the country’s biggest establishments and boutique hotels.

With the need to express his creativity through his own designs, JC finally decided to open this branch. “It was the passion to create things that people would appreciate. After all these big projects, I was looking for a better challenge where I could channel my passion. Where am I gonna have my outlet? Where am I gonna put out who JC is again?” he shares.

JC recalls, “Growing up, our furniture at home, at my lola’s, at my titos’—it’s the mid-century stuff that caught my attention,” so it’s no surprise that the whole space is filled with pieces of this style.

De Adorno’s pieces look like they were hauled straight from the mid-century era. This velvet sofa has impressive wooden detailing; so does this side table, which reveals extra storage when you softly press one side.

The shop goes beyond just pretty home furniture and decor, too—offering artworks and Japanese-pressed vinyl records from Jay Amante of The Grey Market Records, a record store in Quezon City. There’s a HiFi sound system playing in-store music from Audible Illusions, a company that has supplied home cinema systems for JC’s clients and even for his own abode.

RL Picks: Solihiya Chair, P18,000; The Sophia Chair, P20,000; The Kyla Side Table, P18,000; Bar Chair, price available upon request
