Put Up A Brick or Wooden Wall In Less Than A Day

Try a marble or industrial concrete wall, too! These faux finishes can give your home a makeover in a snap.

We all love brick, wood, and stone finishes, especially if it’s an industrial-modern look you’re trying to achieve at home. But what if there is limited time to do this renovation, especially if you’re getting your home ready for a special occasion, or if your unit simply has to be turned over ASAP?

Brick wall veneer has to be properly cut, spaced, and mortared by an expert mason, and the same goes for industrial-style raw concrete finishes, and especially natural cladding like marble, granite, and wood. Installation usually takes a couple of days to weeks, depending on the area.

If you’re in need of a quick finish or simple room makeover, you might want to try wallskins or foilskins from La Deco. These are wall surfaces printed on vinyl or stretched canvas to mimic specific finishs like brick, natural stone, wood, or even metallic surfaces.

The best part about these skins is the minimal installation or downtime—these can be applied just like wallpaper with adhesives (see above). These are flexible enough to be applied to architectural details like cabinets, beams, and columns. Here are some “natural” skins you might want to use for finishing your walls:

Faux brick

A small accent wall in brick veneer will take a few days at least to install. This faux-brick finish skin’s surface has a rough, brick-like texture and the shadows make it appear realistic. You can choose a pale or a “white-washed” brick for a hipster feel.

Imitation concrete

Concrete is one of the basic finishes for an industrial-style home, but this look isn’t as easy as it seems. There is a lot of patching, buffing, and grinding involved, and a final coat of polyurethane is needed to protect it. This concrete-finish skin gives your room that perfect industrial look without the prepwork.

Marble finish

Travertine marble has a raw but elegant look that’s perfect for modern condo homes. The only problem is that installation takes time, plus the fact that travertine is so expensive (it’s also hard to find grains that match).

This marble-finish skin gives you the luxe look for less, with no worry about matching grains.

Faux wood with grains

Tropical modern houses get the warmth from wood accents in the architectural detailing. Natural wood is hard to come by, but you can achieve the same look with faux wood skins in different wood types and stains.

For a more realistic look, it is best to have the wood finishes printed on skins with a wood grain texture.

Foilskins and wallskins can be custom-printed with your own pattern or design; installation should be on a smooth surface. For more info, contact La Deco Lifestyle Division at mobile (63) 0917-595-6803 and at 0917-539-9253, or click here.
