Pest control is important for any home and to quickly rid our spaces of creepy crawlers, we usually turn to chemical sprays and killers. Although they work faster than other alternatives, pesticides can create more problems as these pose health risks in the long run. To help you clear your home of bugs and keep your family from danger, here are some natural solutions you can try:

ANTS

Cinammon Powder

Sprinkle on any area of the home where ants have taken over. Ants cannot stand the strong scent of cinnamon so their tendency is to stay away from it.

Petroleum Jelly

Smear the points of entry of the ants with the jelly. They'll slip and slide in the product which makes it easier for you to catch them.

Sugar

Soak sponges in sugar dissolved in water. Place sponges along the ant trail. When full of ants, throw in boiling water. Repeat as necessary.

COCKROACHES

Citromint Oil

Soak in cotton balls and place in strategic corners. Depending on the concentration of your oil, these can leave them dizzy or kill them straight away.

MOSQUITOES

Lanzones

Dry the fruit peelings under the sun and burn them. The smoke will keep the mosquitoes away.

Citronella

Light citronella candles or burn citronella oil. Spray citronella in affected areas.

FLIES

Vinegar & Sugar

Use a shallow dish bowl and fill it with an inch of apple cider vinegar and a tablespoon of sugar. This solution will attract the flies in one spot and you can kill them in one go.
