Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2017 was a surprising choice: Greenery is a far departure from 2016’s muted Rose Quartz and Serenity, and 2015’s rich Marsala. The color forecasting agency’s website describes it as “a refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.”

Although touted by some designers as a difficult color to use, the striking hue—which is a cross between celery green and lime—Greenery is versatile, and can work remarkably well in a white, modern interior with touches of warm wood and woven materials.

If you have qualms using the color trend on an entire room, try introducing Greenery in small doses by way of decorative accessories and accent furniture. Here are some ideas:

1. The use of Greenery in this design classic shows Cobonpue was ahead of his time. Yoda Easy Chair, price available upon request, Kenneth Cobonpue

2. The winged handles will put a smile on your face in the morning.  Angel Express Coffee Cup, price available upon request, Pylones

3. This cushion will add a pop of crisp color to a neutral sofa. Trevino Pillow, price available upon request, Crate & Barrel

4. Display this vase as is, or add a single, sculptural leaf. Ceramic Vase, P999.75, SM Home

5. A fun notebook that pays homage to mid-century modern furniture icons. MoMa Notebook, P599, National Bookstore (at major malls nationwide)

6. Greenery colors feature in a greenery print. Upholstered Ottoman, P9,945, Philux
