For many (if not all) of us, the home is a special escape that welcomes us after a long and tough day. After dealing with a crazy schedule and facing the bustling streets, just the sight of the gate or front door is enough to calm our nerves. Like an embrace that we can’t get enough of, it’s also where we can recuperate, spend quiet time with loved ones, and simply where we can kick off our shoes and just while away the time doing anything we please.

For award-winning actress Jennylyn Mercado, this one-of-a-kind haven is found in Quezon City—away from the blinding spotlights and her various commitments. Just like the Starstruck alumna, the property highlights a simple and elegant vibe. Sophisticated furniture complete every area with top-of-the-line appliances making the kitchen stand out. To give you a peek inside the house, here are 10 things we loved best about this spacious home:

The chic foyer

To further personalize her home, Jennylyn helped in furnishing the first floor. The wooden console table was made in Pampanga and spruced up with a mix of decor, photographs, and other interesting knickknacks. Notice the mini turntable below? It's a gift from her co-star Jericho Rosales.

Find a similar turntable at Satchmi, SM Megamall Fashion Hall, Mandaluyong City.

The inviting foyer seating area

Who wouldn't love spending some time in this seating area? High-back upholstered chairs are comfy enough for reading time or even entertaining guests. The console table in the middle of the setup holds a variety of decor and books.

The music corner

Known for her singing prowess, Jennylyn can also play the guitar. To complete this music corner, a Yamaha baby grand piano also takes up the available space. Having this corner is perfect—especially if it's a fun get-together with friends and anyone can simply belt out a tune or two.

The simple yet classy living area

It's easy to be captivated by the bright and neutral-colored living area. One can easily feel at home with the calmness it exudes. To complete the space, a beige tufted couch was paired with accent chairs, an ottoman, and the coffee table with chrome legs from a furniture maker in Pampanga. Adding color to the area is the striped area rug.

The classic dining area

We can only imagine the numerous dinners that Jennylyn and her family have enjoyed in this well-lit space. The dining set that can comfortably seat 10 people is frm Restoration while the pretty set of cube pendant lights is from Illuminati Technique.

The second dining area

Situated near the kitchen is the second dining area that can seat eight people. It features cantilevered chairs and can be used as a breakfast nook, extra prep area, and even for quick meals and snacks. A TV installed on the wall provides entertainment in between tasks.

The well-equipped kitchen

The spacious kitchen is every homeowner's dream cooking space. It has an efficient layout that allows whoever is cooking to move around freely and get the job done swiftly.

Storage is found in every turn—from drawers and overhead cabinets. These are always kept clean and organized.

Modern and top-of-the-line appliances complete this part of the home as well.

The lovely gallery wall

At the top of the stairs is a personal gallery wall filled with Jennylyn's favorite photographs. From her trips, family moments, shoots, and even triathlon races—it can give anyone a quick peek into her busy and content life. Of course, there are snapshots of the doting mom with her son Alex Jazz and her Mommy Lydia.

The cinema-like den

Jennylyn enjoys spending quality time with her family in the den. It's where they catch up on movies while enjoying a few snacks. This cozy spot is completed with a three-piece recliner that would remind you of your favorite movie house.

The clean and compact powder room

The powder room on the first floor is often used by guests. It features a pristine overall look with mosaic tiles keeping it from being too dull. Since a lot of people access this part of the home, a basket of towels can be seen under the sink. Meanwhile, to keep it smelling clean all day, a reed diffuser was placed on a slim shelf.
